When I left the States on June 11th I didn't know whether or not I was capable of summitting Kilimanjaro. I pushed and tested myself -- and I did it.
A couple of hours ago I reached the bottom of the mountain - and I just had a shower (really the equivalent of 3) for the first time in a week. I'm going to collect my thoughts, clean my filthy clothes, and rest a bit. Then, I'll post some details on the trip :) Stay tuned.

- An Atlanta native who at a young age developed an affinity for primates--mountain gorillas and orangutans in particular. I created this blog to share my Rwandan journey with friends and family. Now that the trip of a lifetime has come and gone, I'm changing the blog's focus a bit. Until I make it back to Rwanda (i.e., the land of a thousand hills), I'm going to explore my backyard, and hopefully I'll even be able to take a trip here and there :)
