Day 7 -- Boat Ride on Lake Ihema

We began our day by taking a boat ride on Lake Ihema and circled a small island in the middle of the lake that was full of birds--I have never seen so many in one place in the wild! Since there is so much 'food', there were plenty of crocodile nearby sunning themselves and waiting to dine on the tasty treats.

During the ride to and from the boat trip we saw baboon, hippo, a plethora of bird species and more. The ride was fanstastic! There's nothing like sitting on top of a safari vehicle while travelling across the beautiful terraine!

Then, we checked out and headed to Kigali. After having lunch and checking in we went to a number of markets to purchase gifts before heading back to the States.

Before dinner we drank local beer--Mutzip + Primus--while looking at some photos from the trip. I can't wait to share them with everyone when I return!
